Production Roles

These are the 12 Production Roles for the Musical Theatre course. Grade 11/12s are to create a list of the top three roles they would like to fill and grade 9/10s need to fill out the top five assistant roles they would like to fill.

Semester Two is in Full Swing!

It has been a busy couple of days here at MSCSS as we start our second semester! Some of the grade twelve students have started their co-op placements and on Wednesday the grade ten class will be leaving on their Ottawa trip! On Friday the students had their in-class auditions as well as their individual auditions for our school production of Annie and Mrs. Thiessen and I were pleasantly surprised with the talent that the students demonstrated. Our official cast list will be posted before school starts on Monday!

Grade 10 English
- finish M/C and short response #1 in OSSLT booklet
- find an image to represent each description (7 in total) from I AM Poem
- bring novel for Silent Reading

Grade 11/12 Musical Theatre
- audition cover letter due: Wednesday

Review Week

Our final week of semester two is in full swing here at MSCSS. This week we will be reviewing for final exams as well as finishing up final projects. I encourage the students to keep working hard as the end is in sight!

Grade 12 English
- Review the following two links in preparation for class tomorrow. We will be beginning the research process for your final essay so make sure to bring your library card and your laptop.

SNOW DAY!

I hope you are all enjoying the day off of school today as much as I am! This is the view from my 'classroom' today.

I've been getting marking done and planning for next semester's courses. WAHOO! I have added a few important changes to each class's schedule this week due to the snow day, so make sure that you read through the blog so you are prepared for class tomorrow.

Grade 12 English
- Make sure that you have read Vol. 3 Ch. 9-12 for tomorrow as we will be picking up at chapter 13 (if you did your reading at school yesterday and therefore did not bring your Mansfield Park novel home with you, just make sure you have read the summary from Sparknotes for Chapter 40-43 Mansfield Park Chapter Summaries)
- Vocab Quiz List 10: tomorrow
- Lit. Circle #7 (Vol. 3 Ch. 9-17): Friday (Group document has been emailed to you with your roles)
- Mansfield Park Test: Mon. Jan. 18

First Week of 2016

It was a busy and exciting week back at MSCSS as we prepare for upcoming exams and finish up course work. Students are encouraged to use their time wisely as they begin to study and complete final projects.

Grade 12 English
- Write out Peer and Self Evaluation for the recent Group Seminar Presentations
- Read Ch. 8 (Vol. 3) of Mansfield Park
- Complete Literature Circle Role for Vol. 3 Ch. 1- 8

  • Students, I have emailed you the link for the group document on which you are to write your role
- Determine the basis for your comparison along with a comparison chart so that you can develop your thesis next week

Grade 10 Math
- complete quiz questions

Grade 10/11 French
- Translate the nine sentences that were comprised by the class
